ISLAND EXPLORER - School Program
We strive towards a world where the oceans are a part of our consciousness, and the diversity of life within it is nurtured and protected. Education plays a crucial role in transforming how people interact with the ocean, cultivating an ethic of care and conservation. Lasting lessons go beyond the classroom — they spark curiosity, challenge ideas, and offer new experiences.
Our education modules encompass theoretical concepts in Biological and Ecological studies which can be integrated with SCUBA training. Designed for students aged 14 to 18, our learning programs offer transformative experiences over 2-3 days, available from November to March, and can accommodate up to 60 participants. The program features interactive talks, exploratory walks, and a variety of engaging activities such as movie-making, charades, scavenger hunts and more. These elements combine to create a dynamic and unforgettable educational adventure.

STRANDING INCIDENT DATABASE
All reports submitted to ReefWatch are verified before being added to our database. The database currently contains records of marine megafauna strandings, including sea turtles, cetaceans, and seabirds, from Goa (since 2021) and Karnataka (since 2019). The information collected includes species identification, stranding location, date, condition of the animal, and, where available, post-mortem findings.
To access the database, please email us at outreach.lead@reefwatchindia.org with your name, organisation, and research interests.
